Great news! Continuing Lecturer of Portuguese Eugênia Fernandes and our doctoral student Leonardo de Oliveira Silva, just published a book co-written with Professor Tatiana Mello of The University of San Francisco and Lettrice di scambio Camila Almeida of The University of Bologna. The book was published by  Boavista Press. Besides Eugênia Fernandes and, Leonardo de Oliveira Silva as main authors, Professor Leopoldo Bernucci and, Ph.D. Candidate Victor Cervantes participated in the editorial board. 

Plural: Português pluricêntrico is designed for Portuguese learners in US Higher Education, Plural: Português Pluricêntrico introduces the language by exploring contemporary issues in Portuguese-speaking communities. It uses social justice pedagogy and project-based education to teach Portuguese by presenting authentic materials on diversity, equity, accessibility, systemic racism, and women and LGBTQIA+ rights.

Plural: Português pluricêntrico is a free-access Portuguese language textbook that introduces literature and culture from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor, and Macau.

The book has been presented at a few conferences and, the reception has been astonishing. Plural: Português pluricêntrico will be adopted by universities in the US, Argentina, and Portugal. It is free and, as an independent work.
