Announcing the 2018 Samuel G. Armistead Spanish Essay Writing Contest

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese is pleased to announce

The 2018 SAMUEL G. ARMISTEAD SPANISH ESSAY WRITING CONTEST

In memory of Emeritus Professor Samuel G. Armistead (1927-2013) & in recognition of essays that demonstrate creative andcritical writing in Spanish and excellence in scholarship

1st Place: $500 and a certificate
2nd & 3rd Place: certificates

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
-Undergraduate juniors or seniors in the Spanish major registered during winter or spring quarter of 2018
-The essay must be written in Spanish, contain 3,000-5,000 words, be an unpublished, original work in MLA format.
